The Voice of Our Colleagues
The voice of #theAteam is important to us, and we take every chance to hear from our LGBTQI+ community members and allies. Sharing these voices helps educate, open minds, and remind everyone why allyship is crucial.
Each year, we invite our colleagues to become Pride Champions. These champions play a crucial role in promoting awareness, celebrating diversity, and fostering a supportive environment across Ascensos. Their efforts help us nurture a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves.
Ravan, from our Bucharest site, is one of this year's newest Pride Champions. They shared,
“I see myself as an open and non-judgmental human being that loves to spread kindness and awareness. I am definitely a Pride Champion for my friends, as I have gone through many difficult times and never been afraid to share these experiences with them.”
Similarly, Terincya, from our Trinidad site comments,
“I am a committee member of a Pride-positive group outside of work that creates all-women safe spaces. I already advocate for the LGBTQI+ community at work daily.”
Our annual surveys reveal that sharing the origins of the LGBTQI+ movement and the importance of diversity and inclusion within #theAteam helps educate and remind everyone why allyship is crucial.
Pride Marches
From Glasgow to the Isle of Wight and Cape Town, we are proud participants in local Pride Parades. We were thrilled to be one of the main sponsors of the Isle of Wight Pride festival in 2022. Led by our Pride Champions, we proudly wave the flag among our peers and within the community.
And a LOT of Fun!
We love hosting our annual ‘Dress in Colour’ event during Pride month, celebrating with camaraderie and a sea of rainbow colours. At Ascensos, every colleague puts the ‘A’ in #theAteam. Embracing diversity not only allows us to celebrate individuals but also brings us closer together, one of our core values. Discrimination of any kind has no place at Ascensos or anywhere else.
Diversity Awards
As winners of the Diversity and Inclusion award at the 2022 South West Contact Centre Awards and finalists in the upcoming 2024 Contact Centre Management Association (CCMA) Awards for ‘Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace,’ we are proud of our initiatives. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is unwavering.
Leadership Commitment
As part of our CEO-led #asOne Diversity & Inclusion Programme, our Group People Director Rudi Jansen, spearheads our Pride LGBTQI+ pillar. Rudi commented;

Rudi is a firm advocate for LGBTQI+ rights and is steadfast in ensuring our diversity and inclusion agenda is engrained into our culture throughout the year. He continues,
