We’re proud to announce that three of our Cape Town leaders have been shortlisted as Semi-Finalists for the CapeBPO Awards 2024.
Their nomination is a testament to their exceptional leadership, drive, and commitment to excellence, and we couldn’t be prouder of their contributions to Ascensos. Here’s a closer look at each of these outstanding individuals ahead of the winners' announcement on the 19th of October.
Abdol Williams, Team Leader - ALDI
Abdol, is competing for the Top Team Leader/Supervisor Award, a well-deserved recognition of his commitment to doing the right thing and his tailored approach to leading his team. By focusing on both personal and professional development, Abdol ensures that his team members thrive in every aspect of their roles. His dedication to their well-being, coupled with the right amount of support, helps them achieve their desired outcomes. Abdol operates by his personal motto of the 4 C’s – Committed, Clear, Confident, and Consistent – which has led to numerous internal promotions and a thriving team.
Abdol commented;

A standout achievement includes Abdol’s leadership of a project to overhaul the company’s transport service provider. After identifying inefficiencies post his Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification, Abdol's analysis led to a new transport provider, improving both cost efficiency and employee satisfaction. His commitment to the business and its people has earned him several internal awards, including the Ascensos Ambassador award.
Monde Coba, Operations Manager - John Lewis & Partners
Monde is competing for the Top Operational Manager Award, a reflection of his outstanding leadership, which is deeply rooted in leading by example, motivating his team, and fostering a positive work culture. His approach focuses on setting clear expectations, communicating objectives effectively, and creating an environment where every employee feels valued and supported. Monde promotes understanding by sharing resources that help employees appreciate different cultures and spiritual journeys, which has led to many of his team members advancing to leadership roles.

Heetan Parhboo, Senior Team Manager - Wickes
Heetan is competing for the Top Team Leader/Supervisor Award for his exceptional leadership centered on fostering unity, building strong relationships, and igniting passion within his team. With a forward-thinking mindset, Heetan consistently anticipates tasks essential to achieving organisational goals and embraces change as a necessary ingredient for success. He excels at nurturing the unique strengths of his team members, aligning their contributions with the company’s broader vision.
Heetan says;
