Ascensos is a specialist contact centre business that manages bespoke and specialised multi-channel customer contact solutions, including social media customer engagement and insights for a range of blue chip retailers.
As part of the Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017, Ascensos, as an organisation with more than 250 employees, is required to report on specific figures on the gender pay gap.
The gender pay gap is calculated as being the difference between the average earnings of men and women, expressed relative to men’s earnings.
The data used in the gender pay gap calculation is taken from the April 2022 monthly payroll which includes the snapshot date of 5th April 2022.
Ascensos had 1,919 employees, 55% were female employees compared to 45% male employees.
The gender pay gap at Ascensos is lower than the UK average of 14.9% (2022).
When comparing median hourly pay, the amount paid to female employees was equal to that of male employees.
When comparing mean (average) hourly pay, female employees were paid 7.1% lower than male employees.
The mean is the average - the total of the pay in the month divided by the number of employees in each category.
The median is the "middle" value in the list of employees in each category.
Ascensos paid bonuses to 1,499 employees during the year up to the snapshot date. 43% of the recipients of a bonus were male and 57% were female.
When comparing median bonus pay, the amount paid to female employees was equal to that of male employees.
When comparing mean (average) bonus pay, this was 63.1% higher for male employees than female employees.
In total, 78% of employees were paid a bonus.
The distribution of employees across the pay quartiles was as follows:
Upper Quartile: 49% Male 51% Female
Upper Middle Quartile: 54% Male 46% Female
Lower Middle Quartile: 43% Male 57% Female
